Uju Anya Receives College of Education Outstanding Teaching Award

Faculty, staff and students who have made significant contributions to their fields have been selected through letters of appointment motivated by their outstanding service and dedication to their work.

The first of nine featured winners is Uju Anya, who won the college’s Outstanding Teaching Award.

The College of Education’s Outstanding Teaching Award recognizes a faculty mentor who demonstrates excellence in teaching, demonstrates respect for all students as individuals, and creates an environment conducive to learning. Anya is an assistant teacher in second language learning.

She has been in college for four years. She is also a research affiliate with the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in second language learning, language teaching, and applied linguistics, emphasizing the emphasis on race, gender, gender and social class identities in the language. Classroom.

Anya, also known as “Dr. A”, was nominated for the award by the people you’d most want to do – her students.

Dominique Murdock, a doctoral student in Curriculum and Instruction in Second Language Teaching, calls Anya a pioneer in the field of applied linguistics/second language teaching.
