Awakening the Seer Inside Me: Teaching Seidr for the First Time Since 2014

The last time I taught a crash seidr course was in 2014. I found a community center in North London and offered a limited number of places (I think it was ten ). Apologizing for the small number available, I promised another opportunity soon for those who missed out.

Eight years and a pandemic later and I’m finally keeping that promise!

Adding Zoom to the Internet has really helped me do that. I am delighted to be able to teach from the comfort of my living room to yours. And you can book tickets via this link

However, I really have to thank Andre Henriques, my co-facilitator in this program, for encouraging and making this happen. And of course, the wonderful Treadwells Bookstore which hosted and encouraged the 2009 runes course that became Odin’s Gateways book.

As the text of the course outline states:

“Seidr is a set of Scandinavian shamanic practices involving the oracle and the trace. It works on the volva path – the volva being the Norse shamans who foresaw the threads of fate while in heightened state, giving advice to members of their communities.

Andre, who researched seidr for his master’s thesis, will cover the historical practice of seidr as well as the cosmology and mythology of the Norse nine worlds.

I’ll cover the practical side, with guided journeys and information on how to set up your own rites. For those lucky enough to live close enough, you can also attend the optional in-person ritual hosted by Treadwells; which hosted so many seidr rites that became “Seidr: The door is open”

Tickets sold out a little faster than expected, so there are only a few tickets left for the online-only option and a handful for both the online and in-person option.

In fact, it may be a while before I teach Seidr again. Although I am starting a monthly online group in September, Bennu’s Table. The first event is unfortunately sold out, but tickets are available for October and November). More on this in a future article!

Treadwells Bookshop has been part of the esoteric community in Bloomsbury for almost two decades. It has hosted many speakers and rites. Since 2020, their online courses have flourished, so take a moment to look at their other offerings, especially the Academic Study of Western Esotericism which begins in November.
